Some minutes are definitely longer than others
When Graham was four, I used the word “meditation” in his presence.
“Oh!” he said excitedly, “we do that in preschool!”
I amusedly tried to picture wrangling a roomful of three- to six-year-olds into a meditation circle, let alone trying to convince them to sit quietly and motionless…. But this was Montessori preschool. I believed him. If anyone could do it, Miss Virginia could.
“Really?” I asked. “How long do you meditate??”
“One minute,” he said. And then he added for clarification: “But it’s a long minute.”
